Fortinet Firewall

Enterprise firewall protection on an SME budget

About the product

Next-Generation Firewall from Fortinet with IPS, antivirus, sandboxing, URL filtering, SD-WAN and VPN – delivered, configured and managed by us. From 10 users to data centre scale.

Fortinet FortiGate is the market-leading Next-Generation Firewall and a cornerstone of any modern security architecture. We don't just deliver the hardware – we design, install and configure the entire solution to match your network and security requirements. We then handle ongoing firmware updates and FortiGuard threat intelligence updates, so you are always protected against the latest threats. FortiGate combines Intrusion Prevention (IPS), antivirus with sandboxing, web filtering, DNS security and VPN (IPsec and SSL) in a single platform. If you have several locations, the built-in SD-WAN lets you optimise traffic between offices without additional equipment. We offer models ranging from small offices with 10 users to large installations with hundreds of concurrent connections.

Who it is for

Who is Fortinet Firewall suited to?

Fortinet FortiGate suits organisations with 10 or more employees that have outgrown what a simple router from the internet provider can handle. If you have staff working from home, several locations, or simply handle customer data with GDPR implications, you need a genuine firewall layer — not just NAT on a consumer router.

Fortinet is the right fit if you want a single, coherent security layer covering both the office and remote staff. The SD-WAN feature is particularly relevant if you have two or more offices that need to communicate securely without spending a fortune on dedicated MPLS lines.

If, on the other hand, you only have 1-5 employees and don't handle sensitive data, a smaller solution is usually sufficient. We will tell you if you are over-investing.

Why us

Why choose Teknisk Support for Fortinet Firewall?

We are a Fortinet partner and have configured FortiGate for everyone from law firms to manufacturing companies. That gives us a concrete sense of which rules actually make a difference day to day versus which ones merely slow your staff down unnecessarily.

We can also take on the operational responsibility if you wish. That means firmware updates, monitoring of suspicious traffic, responding to alerts and quarterly policy reviews — so you aren't left with a firewall that slowly silts up because nobody is looking at it.

You get local Danish support. When there is a case, you speak to a named engineer who knows your setup — not a ticket queue.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about Fortinet Firewall

What does a Fortinet firewall cost in total?+
Hardware list prices range from approx. DKK 5,000 (the smallest FortiGate 40F) to DKK 50,000+ for larger models. On top of that comes the FortiGuard subscription (threat intelligence) and our setup and operation. We provide a specific quote after a brief mapping of your locations and number of users.
Do we have to replace our current firewall, or can we upgrade?+
It depends on the model. Older FortiGate models can be upgraded to newer firmware, but we often recommend replacing hardware that is more than five years old — for both security and performance reasons. Other vendors (Sophos, Cisco, Palo Alto) can be migrated with policy mapping; we help with the planning.
Can you set up VPN for our home workers?+
Yes. Fortinet supports both SSL VPN (browser-based) and IPsec (dedicated client). We configure the entire setup for you — we typically recommend the classic FortiClient solution on employees' PCs, as it provides the most stable connection. Setup usually takes 1-2 days depending on the number of users.
What is the difference between FortiGate and an ordinary router?+
A router from the internet provider only handles traffic routing and basic NAT. A Next-Generation Firewall such as FortiGate additionally provides Intrusion Prevention (IPS), antivirus scanning of traffic, web filtering, sandbox analysis of suspicious files and logging of all connections — all critical layers for catching attacks at an early stage.
How quickly can you get us up and running?+
Hardware is typically delivered 3-5 working days after ordering. Installation and configuration take 1-3 working days depending on complexity. We coordinate with you so that the cutover takes place outside working hours if you prefer.
